ALONA BERGMAN

Hi! My name is Alona, and I'm a fine art photographer, based in Munich.

One way or another, I have been connected with the world of photography for a long time: I organized photo projects, worked as a photo-model and photographer. After moving to Germany in 2015, it became obvious that I wanted to connect my future life with art.

In Brunswick, I was auditing the Academy of Arts while shooting on my film and phone cameras. Then I took a creative photography course at a photography school. For 4 years I have worked at the international gallery in Munich with the Focus on contemporary photography. Than I quit my job to find myself in photography again. I am currently studying art history at LMU in Munich.

I shoot mostly floral dark photos, still-life’s and botanical photography. I see flowers as the main figure of my photo stories and the subject of inspiration. Through them, I touch upon the theme of life and death, the frailty of the world, and seek answers to existential questions. The question of the finiteness of our life is one of the most exciting for me. Nothing lasts forever, and that is the beauty of life.

I see myself as an observer, and photography is a great way for me to stop the time, freeze a moment, and the ability to conserve it until the photograph itself exists. In fact, moments are what our life consists of. And the memory of these moments it is something that stays with us until the very end.

I shoot with a regular camera and a phone. I am convinced that it does not matter what to shoot on, if there is something to say and a great passion to do it.
